The Role
We are looking for a part-time Accounting Assistant to support the accounting department with bookkeeping functions, specifically related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Additionally, you will support the Accounts Manager with monthly financial reporting and other data quality projects ad needed. The job will require 20-30 hours per week and capable employees are afforded the opportunity to work from home after getting up to speed. This position is designed to transition to a full time, permanent job if the fit is right.

What You Will Do
Although the following responsibilities are the essential functions of this position, it is entirely likely that other tasks may be assigned or reassigned to this job at any time.
- Process and recording of payments received (checks, credit cards, cash, online payments), including making bank deposits when necessary
- Data entry and data correction in organization’s CRM (Salesforce) & accounting software (Accounting Seed)
- Post accounts payable invoices and verify proper approval and account numbers
- Processing staff expense reports and credit card expenses
- Daily cash reconciliation of payments received with payments applied
- Assist with monthly closing of books
- Processing and uploading of purchase orders, invoices, and other forms
- Answering customer calls
- Filing
What Gets You the Job
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Salesforce CRM experience is a plus, but training will be given to the right candidate if necessary
- Accounting Seed accounting software experience is a plus, but training will be given to the right candidate if necessary
- Must be local
- Good communication skills
